Each family member who needs to be seen will need a separate appointment. If you need to reschedule an appointment, please do so as soon as possible. If you do not give 24 hours notice of cancellation, you will be billed accordingly. Practice Objectives
Medical Office Assistants Robin and Jennifer are the office assistants for Dr. John Erb, Dr. Comeau and Phoebe Collard (NP). Medical office assistants answer phones, book appointments and arrange referrals. The office assistants do not discuss test results and do not give medical advice. In certain situations, the medical assistants may recommend that you call 9-1-1 or go to the emergency room. If you leave a voicemail message, we will make every effort to return your call within 24 hours. Clinic Nurse Amey is the clinic nurse. She will take you to the exam room, and likely take your vital signs including blood pressure. Amey administers immunization, allergy sorts, venipuncture, and ECG’s. She also assists the practitioners with surgical procedures. Teaching Facility We are motivated to provide a teaching environment for medical and nurse practitioner students. For you, this likely means that you see both your caregiver and student during the time at the clinic. We appreciate your support in this regard. Prescription Refills Your caregivers will prescribe sufficient medication until a reassessment of the medical condition is required. It is your responsibility to keep track of your medication. Please call for an appointment at least 2 weeks before you run out. Narcotics and other controlled substances will NOT be filled by phone. After Hours Coverage After hours, you can call the Telehealth Advisory Service (THAS) at 1-866-553-7205 to speak to a registered nurse for general medical advice. The nurse will fax your doctor a summary of your medical concerns and the recommendations given. There is an urgent care clinic (UCC) every Monday through Thursday and on the weekend. Details will be left on your voicemail. These clinics alternate between these locations: Stone’s Mills Clinic, Dr. Maitland’s Office. Seeley’s Bay Medical Centre or Lansdowne. |
