Recognizing Our Donors

Many volunteers, individuals, businesses and community groups played a huge part in the Centre becoming a reality in 1973.  The same calibre of support propelled us toward the grand opening of the expansion in 2014.  We received financial donations of all sizes. To all donors we say thank you. Through the many events and appeals with generous contributions of time, resources, products and funds it was an extremely successful community campaign in support of the new wing.

This virtual Wall of Recognition allows us to acknowledge publicly (with donor consent) many of those contributions.  As we continue in our efforts to discharge our loan obligation and ensure sustainability of the improvements achieved, we will continue to update our donor walls both virtual and physical.  The physical Wall of Recognition is proudly displayed in the Medical Centre waiting room.

Please visit our Honor Roll under this tab to get a better understanding of the support this Centre has been blessed with.  Or, view the wall plaques at the Centre when you visit.

Remembering Andrew Graham

Andrew Graham has served on the St. Lawrence District Medical Centre Board of Directors since December of 2010.

He offered his time and talents in an overall director capacity but also as Treasurer, re-elected to this portfolio at each subsequent AGM.  He moved the Centre forward in many areas of financial management during his years of dedicated service to this community gem.  He was involved in the branding of the Centre as fundraising was initiated for the Centre’s expansion.  He developed and managed this web site.  He was a constant through the visionary, planning, promoting and implementation of the building expansion.

He has been heavily involved in the operations of the Centre and he has been hands on when needed for manual mundane labour.

Respected by his peers around the Board table and by the practitioners and staff of the Centre, he has been a source of knowledge, inspiration and calm reasoning.  He believed the Medical Centre holds a place of great value in our community and his desire was always to see it be the best primary health care facility possible.  With quiet dignity, amidst the obstacles of Covid, Andy navigated the course of a challenging cancer journey.  Andy died at his heritage home, Locust Grove Farm, on Monday, April 18th, 2022.  His presence is, and will be, greatly missed.
